I first experienced The Poseidon Adventure at the age of seven, the week it was released in the United States (you can do the math.)  It was the first movie that didn't have a "G" rating I ever saw.  Probably like the rest of you, I was completely mesmerized.  I couldn't stop thinking or talking about it.  Every opportunity I had I went back to the theater to see it over and over again.  Before long, my parents were getting pretty concerned--especially when I started painstakingly constructing miniature Poseidon dining salons out of every cardboard box I could get my hands on.  After marveling over my creation for a while, I would flip my masterpiece upside-down--loaded with little green army men--and destroy it by flooding it with the garden hose.  This process was repeated on more occasions than I care to remember.

I don't know exactly what it is about The Poseidon Adventure that continues to fascinate me to this day.  I still can't go to a restaurant, mall, or just about any public place without visualizing it upside-down, and then plotting an escape route.  I never actually took my first cruise until 1996, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you how terribly disappointed I was when the cruise ended without the ship capsizing :-)

Regardless of why this movie has become an intricate part of my soul, I am very happy that I have had the opportunity to share my fascination with other Poseidon Adventure fans.  I've really enjoyed your e-mails and kind words about the site.

Aloha, and mahalo for visiting.

F.A.Q.'s

How many times have I seen The Poseidon Adventure?
By now, at least 300 times.  And I've watched my favorite scenes many more countless times.

What are my favorite parts of the movie?
The capsize and the first explosion when the water comes crashing in are my favorite.  I don't enjoy watching people die, but I'm a real special effects geek, and TPA started that fascination.

What are my least favorite parts of the movie?
Linda and Belle's deaths.  Even today I still have trouble watching those scenes.

Do I know, or have I met any stars from Poseidon?
I personally met Shelley Winters back in my home town of Denver, Colorado in 1982 when she was starring in a play there.  In 2003, I met Ronald Neame, Stella Stevens and Carol Lynley at the 5th fan club reunion.  That was truly a treat, and an experience I won't soon forget.  You can see some pictures from the reunion by clicking here.

Which celebrity from the film would I like to meet the most?
Finally met her in 2003 - Stella Stevens!

Who are my favorite characters?
Linda Rogo and Belle Rosen.

Am I married?
No. My significant other's name is Scott, and we have been together since January of 1992.

How old am I?
I'm sorry, I didn't understand the question.

Where do I live?
Relocated to the Hawaiian Island of Maui from the Los Angeles area in early 2004.  I'm originally from Denver Colorado where I was born, and lived there until 1992.

Where do I work?
I work from my home designing, building and maintaining websites.
